Stiles Stilinksi age regression headcannons

go easy on me this is my first HC post 😅

ᴀɢᴇ ʀᴀɴɢᴇ

Stiles mainly regresses around the ages of 0-2 so his regression is geared towards the baby side. A lot of it consists of speech-loss, whines and hums, pointing for what he wants, using basic ASL, clumsy-ness, naps, and lots of cuddling. 

ᴡʜᴏ ᴋɴᴏᴡꜱ?

Stiles is very secretive about his regression, at first the only person that knew about it was his dad Noah, but that was only because of how persistent the man was on finding out what exactly his son was guarding so closely. Then there’s Derek, who eventually becomes one of his primary caregivers. Derek seemed to take the “news” of his regression the hardest, not because he couldn’t accept it but because he had some serious cleaning up to do with his act (Slamming Stiles’ head onto the steering wheel of his jeep for shenanigans, tossing him around, being at the butt end of so many of Derek’s award winning death-glares, he had a lot of making up to do). Of course, where there’s Derek there’s Peter. He looves to tease about his regression at every given chance but is a very protective caregiver when need be. Then there’s Scott who’s always known even before he couldn’t place his best friend’s odd behavior with the term “age regression". He may be the worst babysitter ever for always giving in to ice-cream for breakfast… and lunch… and dinner, but he really means well! Lydia! Stiles was mortified when Lydia found out and avoided her at all costs but eventually got cornered and lectured on “why on Earth would he hide something like this from her when she’s fully capable of taking on whatever role he needed?!”. The rest of the pack learns about Stiles’ regression but initially its Noah, Derek, Peter, Scott, and Lydia.

ᴡʜʏ ʜᴇ ᴅᴏᴇꜱ ɪᴛ

He mainly regresses due to trauma and a not-so-happy childhood. Although, he also uses it to cope with acute anxiety disorders and autism (yup he’s also got autism to me which I can make a separate post about and go much more in depth). Getting possessed by a thousands year old demon sure is a catalyst for wanting to throw on one of his dad’s old t-shirts, making a nest of blankets/toys and curling up on the couch while watching an old comfort cartoon. 

ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɢᴇᴀʀ ʜᴇ ʜᴀꜱ

Baby pacifiers - He has one adult pacifier but the guy adores the tiny baby ones

Onesies - Not a huge fan of how constricting they can be so he only has two or three 

Fuzzy socks - Ohmygod his sock drawer is overflowing with an array of the softest and fuzziest socks he can find at the nearest Target

Stuffed animals - Need I say more? He’s got a couple jellycats (a wolf and a horse), two build a bears he frankenstein-ed and stitched together named Puppy-Bear (can you tell what animals they we’re respectively?), a Pound Puppy, a huge elephant named Jattestor from Ikea, Clarice (a six legged lamb by HoneyLambs seriously check them out they make the coolest stuffed animals), a plethora of Eeyores and a plethora of Furskin’s Bears as well as other customized stuffed animals (no I totally didn’t make this list off of my own stuffed animals, ur lucky I didn’t write them all down)

Pjs - Seriously I think he has a pajama-hoarding problem because at this point he collects any remotely cute and sensory friendly pajama set he lays eyes on

Bottle - his literal favorite piece of regression gear. Nothing fancy, just a small clear blue baby bottle he bought at the clearance section of whatever grocery store he was at

Miscellaneous- building blocks, counter bears, calico critters, jumbo crayons (cus the regular ones are just too small for his taste!), coloring books, stickers (So. Many. Stickers.), night lights, baby utensils, rattles and teethers, pacifier case, and a basket-full of stim toys

i'll be making more headcannon posts but expect them all to be stiles-centric ^^ and thank u @jjtheresidentbaby for all ur support/motivation :D

Regressor Stiles Stilenski | Caregiver Derek Hale

• stim toys. Stiles LOVES them big or small. You will always find some sort of toy on or around him.

•similarly Lydia got him chewerly so maybe he would stop chewing on his pens/pencils when he couldn’t have his paci

•likes to play video games with Scott when he’s a little bigger but tends to just watch when he’s younger

•Stiles will stay at Derek’s loft when he’s regressed

•sometimes while Stiles waits for Derek to pick him up when he’s regressed his dad will let him color in his office or with Parrish (who ADORES kiddo stiles and gives him kiddy badges all the time)

•both Derek and Sheriff Stilenski have a fridge covered in little stiles drawings

•baby stiles absolutely loves cuddling with his sourwolf and derek really loves getting to hold his sweet sleepy boy

•Derek looks forward to the days he gets to care for stiles. he loves spending his time not stressing over anything really “important” for a while. instead he gets to snuggle his baby and read him stories.

Keyring Rattles

Stiles regresses in class and freaks out, his understimulated little brain locks onto the idea of getting Lydia's keys and won't settle until he's rattling them.

or, I started another drabble and accidentally made a 1k ish fic (chapter 2 is very OOC and from the perspective of Lydia & Scott instead of Stiles, it's separated bc I don't like it as much)

Warning: This fic contains Age Regression, a non-sexual coping mechanism! 

(Little!Stiles, CG!Scott. Lydia is also there as sorta a side character, so hc her however you want. This has no romantic interactions at all!)  (Autistic!Stiles also bc i cant have a favorite character and make them NT) (Please note that the semi-joke at the very end about “pulling the autism card” is something I have said in real life, and if it makes you uncomfortable that is a personal preference and doesn’t apply to everybody /nm /lh)

Stiles doesn't like English on a good day.

He hates it on a bad day.

And would rather throw a tantrum in front of the entire class on a little day.

It's why Scott is actively leading him out of the classroom and towards That Locker Room that they always go toward when he has some level of freak out in school. He's trying to calm his little down on the walk, but Stiles is entirely inconsolable.

Snot and tears are practically coating his face, he got taken out of the classroom before it got too bad (He saw Stiles start crying and made an excuse to get them both out of there, thank god), but he’s about one wrong move away from a full-blown meltdown.

Meltdowns for Stiles are bad enough when he's big, when little? Not something you want to do around other people. Especially anybody who isn't your caregiver.

The locker room is a familiar sight, and despite the smell that assaults his nose he's relieved to know he's away from other people. Of course, that also means that once the door is shut and Scott has set him down leaning against one of the chain walls he's getting loud. Broken, cracking sobs and squirming limbs. 

The chain wall rattled loudly when he smacked his head against it, Scott is still talking to him, trying to get him to calm down. His tone sounds a bit more frantic now, but Stiles can't understand any of the words through his racing thoughts.

His hand latches onto the links, yanking on the wall and rattling it so it echoes around in the room. It's a good sound, like a more aggressive key ring.

That's what he wants!

He wants a key ring. More specifically he wants Lydia’s, because she has a lot of keys and trinkets and it makes a nice noise. He whines, yanking on the chains again, “Lydi,” he shouts it, even though he just meant to say it to Scott because doing anything quiet might drive him entirely off the deep end.

“Lydia?” Scott echoes, but whatever he says next is lost on a much too little Stiles (He hates this, he hates when his regression gets so deep he struggles to process English unless he's focusing on it completely. It's terrifying)

“Wan’ Lydi!” 

He can hear Scott’s phone ringing. He yanks on the fence again, giggling at the sound. It rattles around his skull in such a pleasant way, he yanks again. It echoes around the locker room, hitting every wall and the other chain fences, and then falls back on him.

Scott's talking to Lydia, he can tell. She better be coming over, he wants her keys! 

(He doesn't think about how he doesn't want her to see him flapping one hand, covered in tears and snot with his legs curled up against his chest and the other hand yanking on the chain fence. Doesn't want her to see him a total mess because all he wants are her keys)

Sure enough, a couple minutes more of Stiles rattling the chains and finding anything he can to keep his other hand occupied (Including but not limited to flapping and hitting, which Scott attempted to stop if his raise in volume meant anything) and the telltale click-clack of Lydia’s heels approached the door.

Hopefully, at least, it could always just be a teacher. It's not though, and soon Lydia is crouched down on his other side and is talking with Scott. Stiles reaches his free hand toward her.

“Keys!” he more-or-less demands, yanking on the chains again. His wide eyes lock on her pink, long-strapped purse where the jingle jangles are certainly hiding from him.

“Keys?” Lydia echoes, looking over him towards Scott. One hand is slowly venturing towards her purse, so Stiles whines and makes a grabby motion towards it to make her speed up, “Why do you want my keys, Stiles?”

Stiles pouts at her, slumping when she doesn't give him what he wants right away, “Jingly.”

Lydia smiles, then chuckles, finally retrieving the jingle jangles and setting them in his hand. He sits up and squeals, letting go of the chain to hold the keys by the hook and shake them. Shake, shake, shake! 

He giggles and starts rocking, moving his legs so he's crisscrossed and happily shaking the keys. Occasionally he brings it up to his ear and rattles it, but every time Scott brings his hand away so he doesn't damage his hearing.

Super mean, but if it makes bubba upset then he'll keep the keys away from his ears!

“What happened?” Lydia asks once Stiles is enthralled in her keyring, clearly not paying attention to either of them.

Scott sighs, running his hands down his face tiredly, “I don't know, we were in English and I caught the scent of his emotions. When I looked up he was crying, so I brought him here.”

“Did he just regress in class and freak out?” she frowns at him, looking back toward the human. 

“I guess?” Scott says. Lydia focuses more on how dirty Stiles is, pulling out a handkerchief from her bag to try and wipe his face off. That's surely going to dry and become an all-around horrible sensory experience, especially for an already upset little, “Hey, keep those away from your ears, bud,” Scott reaches up to pull the keys away from where Stiles was shaking them right beside his ear.

The little whimpers in response to both his face being wiped and Scott moving his hand, but when he lets go and he's allowed to rattle the keys again he calms down.

“Blow, sweetheart,” Lydia encourages, holding the handkerchief to his nose. He complies, so she pulls it away and wraps it up to safely store it in its own, separate pocket in her purse to be washed later.   “Alright, how are we getting him out of here?”

Scott gives her a weird look, “What do you mean?”

“We can't just bring him out the front door, someone will question while he's shaking a set of keys and leaning on one of us, or call his dad,” she reminds.

“We can just pull the autism card,” Scott shrugs, “We do it all the time, it's an easy way to get out of class if something happens.”

“...I feel like that’s not okay?”

“His idea, not mine,” Scott holds his hands up in defense, “If you want to try and get him out the window or something, be my guest, I’m just saying what’d be easiest.”

Lydia sighs and looks around the room for any windows. Most of the windows in their school aren’t the kind you can just pop open and hop through, unfortunately, so she’d either have to go through mental gymnastics trying to unlock them or break a screen. Or both.

Fine, pulling the autism card it is. Even when she double-checks, Scott promises that it’s Stiles’s idea to pull it when they’re in a sticky situation.

This is definitely prompting me to write 😶

Two of my favourite Teen Wolf scenes are ones that highlight how the characters acted before the bite.

For example, season one, in the scene where Scott and Stiles are stuck in the school and they can see the alpha outside. It’s Stiles that runs out to get the bolt cutters despite Scott being a werewolf. I think it highlights how their relationship was before Scott changed, how Stiles felt the need to take care of Scott (the same way he needs to take care of his dad and people he cares about). For that moment, Scott being a werewolf was forgotten and it went back to Stiles and his asthmatic friend who can’t run.

Then again in season two when Scott, Isaac and Melissa are looking at Jackson in his weird little cocoon thing. Scott asks his mom to zip the body bag because he’s scared. He’s a scared teenager, someone who still relies on his mother and wants to feel protected. And Melissa, despite being terrified and knowing there is two werewolves in the room, does it. Because her motherly instincts override her survival instincts and she wants to take care of her kid. I think that scene especially highlights how close their mother/son relationship is but also highlights how young Scott and Isaac are.

Moral of the story, I like scenes that showcase that the main characters are kids, they’re children who shouldn’t be dealing with half the things they deal with. Yet despite that, their instincts are always to care for and protect each other despite the risk.

•full coping mech. He’s giving himself the childhood he wanted.

•likes pacis and stim toys because it gives him something to do/focus on when he’s nervous

•isn’t super comfortable with people knowing so he keeps it mostly to himself and like 3 other people

•so he nearly had a full blown panic attack when coach found his paci on the floor in the locker room. However the panic was for nothing bc Coach didn’t even question it. He simply didn’t care enough to, he just tossed it back to Isaac and walked off. (Cue Isaac Error 404 lol)

•he specially regresses a lot after having nightmares

•Derek knows because the first few days (after Isaac turned and he was without his dad) were really hard on him and he ended up involuntarily stress regressing a bunch

•due to this he’s become the most comfortable around Derek when regressed

•Derek will forever treat him like “his” beta

•aka Derek is such a pack Dad™️

•Derek buys him those applesauce squeeze ups

•Allison also knew and was kind of excited to see Baby Lahey so she bought a bunch of little toys for him (but then she uh☠️)

•Peter shockingly knows about his regression and secretly finds it very cute. He has a whole album on his phone dedicated to pictures of baby Isaac in just his Dino diapers and shirts that he stole from Derek

New fic! Kinda. It’s a drabble book for Teen Wolf Age Regression shit that I just kinda made in class to satiate my need to create for this fandom. I won’t be posting the summary or anything here, just the fic link and some warnings!

Normally Stiles has an okay day , remarks from other teenagers and hanging out with Scott and their other friends. But today was a little different not by much though his day started with him taking his ADHD meds. Getting dressed in his usual choice of clothing denim jeans , black tank top and one of his flannels. Then having blueberry pancakes with his dad before they both had to leave for work and school.

His beloved jeep was in the shop so Erica and Boyd had so generously gave him a ride they of course had made a plan to do a, Batman marathon with both the classic cartoons and the movies next Friday night.(Erica actually likes DC like stiles does and Boyd can't say no to his girlfriend or Stiles's puppy eyes) But unfortunately halfway through the end of the school day he was shoved against the lockers by some one on the team (it was Gerrett) , most definitely bruising the side of his face.

And this is what he hated about high school the bullies that will bully anyone because they either want to for fun or , because their beaten at home and take their emotions out on other teenagers. Danny had Jackson deal with the other asshole while Danny had actually taken Stiles to the nurse to get the injury looked at , incase it was more then just bruising even if it was just going to heal in a few hours anyway. Surprisingly when the bell had rang and all the students were flooding the halls making their way outside and to their cars , the bus , bikes or some just walked home. Anyway when Stiles walked outside Derek's car was in the the parking lot a few cars away from Lydia's to be exact.

Derek was leaning against it with those stupid sunglasses he had worn a year or so ago when Erica was in the car. The Werewolf of course spots his boyfriend and waves him over making the fox less confused as he makes way to Derek. And to be honest he's had a day so as soon as he's in arms reach he gives the slightly taller(by like two inches)male a hug. Derek hums wrapping his own arms protectively over the younger stilinski , already sensing that Stiles has had a somewhat bad day.

"Bad day kit?"

"Mmhmm got pushed in the lockers , Jackson took care of the douchebag. Danny took me to the nurse even though it wasn't necessary"

"Oh I'm sorry that happened to you Mischief. You know he only took you to see the nurse's office , because he cares about you"

" yeah I know. "

"You wanna be little hu? I'd be more than happy to take care you , you know I don't mind "

"Please?"

And just like that Stiles gets a kisses to his forehead before his bag is taken off his shoulder and put in the back and he's buckled into the passenger seat. Derek rounds the other side to the driver's seat , getting in and opening the glovebox grabbing the plastic container and gives it to the other. Letting him choose what teether , chewelry , or even pacifier he might want while the older of the two pulls out of the parking lot and drives on to his own house.(the hale house had been rebuilt and it's Derek's now)

During the drive Stiles had chosen one of those clear colored teethers and had actually shifted into his slightly small fennec fox form when the light turned red. Thankfully no human saw because of Derek's tinted windows , he gently bit and chewed on the teether as he was given soft scratches to his ears for a few seconds. Another hour goes by and finally they are at the hale house , the car gets parked in front of the house. Stiles gets carried out of the car and into the house gently set on the couch in the living room as Derek gets Stiles's little stuff out. Stiles himself stayed a fox for a few more moments before he went up , the stairs and into the main bedroom. Where Derek is getting his stuff layed out on the bed and of course the fox shimmed under the covers and shifted back to normal making the other smile in amusement.

" Hello sweet pup , how old are we right now?

" Hm three"

" Such a small kit , wanna choose what you wear? "

And just like that the little looks at the layed out clothes, there's two choices layed out. A black snap crotch onesie with white lining on the collar and short sleeves , with fluffy white socks on top of them. The second choice is one of Derek's T-shirts and a pair of Stiles's sleep shorts. There's a pair of batman themed underwear and there's something next to it. A pull-up on the bed to, incase the werefox needs it or wants to wear it.

"Can I have the the shirt and um maybe the pull-up? "

"Of course honey. Do you want me to change you or would you like me to give you some privacy and you can change yourself? "

" Change by my self"

Derek kisses his forehead and gets up and slipping out of the bedroom giving his little one some privacy. So that's what Stiles does he moves the covers away from his frame. And puts the onesie and shorts away before getting dressed into the T-shirt , pull-up and the fluffy socks. Once dressed he finds his favorite stuffed animal "Sour-Apple" the stuffed turtle, Peter had actually gotten the plush. For him at a festival the pack had went to last summer , Stiles opens the door and makes grabby hands(well grabby hand more like cuz his stuffie is in his left hand) wanting to be held , in a split second he's hoisted up on to Derek's hip.

" Would you like a snack, jellybean?"

"May I have apples and peanut butter?

"Cut in slices right? "

" Yes please Der-Der"

"Such good manners my kit has. "

Giggles fill Derek's ears when Stiles gets kisses pressed all of his face as they make their way back down the stairs. Passing the photos of the pack and some of the Hale family members along on the walls. Stiles is set on the countertop and given a sippy cup full of his favorite juice.(it's just peach Snapple but stiles counts it has juice) While the other male peals and cuts up two apples , making a circle with them on a plate. And uses a silicone cupcake liner to put the peanut butter in and sets it in the middle of the circle of apples. Stiles slightly jumps off the counter and walks to the living room putting on Max and Rudy.(he's on Amazon) Derek follows him of course and sets their snack on the coffee table and sits on the couch, pulling his little one in his lap. Reserving a soft relaxed hum from said little as Stiles takes one the apple slices and munches on it as he and Derek watch cartoons and just relax.
